Warren School District Gifted and Talented

Brunson New Vision Charter 5th grade  Student, Annette Escobedo, and Warren Middle School 7th grade student, Hunter White, have been notified by the National Geographic Society that they have both qualified as semifinalists to compete in the 2018 Arkansas National Geographic State Bee.  The contest will be held at The University of Central Arkansas on Friday, April 6, 2018.

This is the second level of the National Geographic Bee competition, which is now in its 30th year.  School Bees were held in school with fourth - eighth grade students throughout the state to determine each school's champion.  School Champions then took a qualifiying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society.  The National Geographic Society has invited up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each of the 50 states to compete in the State Bees. 

Annette is the daughter of Jose and Josephina Escobedo.  Hunter is the son of April White and Hunter White.
