Hermitage High School Hosts Literacy Night

Hermitage High School will host Family Literacy Night for students in grades 7-12 and their parents on February 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school library. Featured speaker is Rhonda G. Williams, author and HHS alumnae. Ms. Williams will discuss the writing process, strengthening literacy skills, and preparing students for college-level literacy classes.

Williams is the author of The Naming of Girl, a novel whose spunky main character, Girl, faces numerous challenges as she navigates through life. At times heartbreaking, but often hilarious, the book leaves the reader wanting to know how Girl’s story will turn out. Williams is currently working on the sequel, which will continue Girl’s story with her newly discovered family.  Williams also teaches Freshman Composition through the Early College High School program. Her current class includes several HHS students.

Copies of The Naming of Girl will be available for purchase, and Ms. Williams will be signing copies.  If you already have a copy, we invite you to bring it to be signed. Please come and join us for a fun and informative evening!
