Mayor Martin visited Warren Middle School as part of the R.I.S.E. (Reading Initiative for Student Excellence). During his visit the Mayor read scary stories to the students and discussed the meaning of key vocabulary words with the students. Mayor Martin explained to students the importance of becoming a good reader and how he enjoys reading as a pastime. He told them that being able to read well is an essential skill for his job and that everyone should strive to be a good reader. Martin encouraged the students to work hard and read as much as possible.
