Mayor Zack Tucker was on hand at the recent Monticello Christian Academy Victory Ceremony to help Kelly Word, Director of MCA, present three students with Presidential Community Service Awards. In the past two years, MCA has had the honor of presenting six of its students with this prestigious honor. Students receive a metal of honor for their service, a certificate of achievement, and a letter from the President of the United States. This years award winners are as follows: Hayley Hunter, Bronze Metal; Braxton Shelton, Bronze Metal; Christin Sullivan, Silver Metal. Monticello Christian Academy is committed to service to the SEARK community. MCA students have been involved in over 400 hours of service to the surrounding area. Student service activities have included everything from a food drive that collected over 500 pounds of food, to singing at senior citizen living facilities, to delivering meals and commodities to meals on wheels recipients through the local Senior Citizen's Center. Students received varied awards for achievements ranging from academic achievements to character and integrity awards.
